Most of us would delete an email from a bank that requested login information for any reason but there are now several other routes that a fraudster can take. Be on your guard from unexpected pop-ups or links from friends that ask for any personal information as these could be used to steal your identity. Equally, be selective with the friend requests that you accept. While you may want to have lots of contacts it would be easy for a fraudster to slip through the net in this way. Make sure you only accept requests from people you know and trust.

Including information such as your date of birth, contact details or pet’s name on your profile page is a dangerous move. These can be used to set up a new credit account or to guess the passwords used to protect your bank and credit card accounts. Amend your privacy settings to only allow close friends to view your profile and to restrict who is able to post messages on your pages. Friends may unintentionally post personal information that you wouldn’t want others to see.

While file sharing is a good way of passing photos, music and video between friends, these files can also contain hidden viruses that steal confidential information from your computer. Be careful when downloading and always make sure the file has definitely come from a trusted source. Just because it looks like it came from a friend, it may not have.

Never share your password with anybody, even to check your emails or to show them your photos, however much you trust them. It is easy for these to get into the wrong hands and although in most cases your trust would not be breached, it may happen even if it is only done as a joke.

Unfortunately, you can never assume that your personal information is safe – there is always a chance that enough of your information has been found to open credit accounts in your name. Your credit report, which keeps information such as your credit history, including mortgages, credit cards and mobile phone contracts, also records any new applications made in your name so that you can easily identify any fraud that has been committed.

It may be a good idea to have a regular credit check to make sure your report is accurate and up-to-date, and to look for suspicious entries that could mean you’re a victim of identity theft.

Welcome to Facebook Bar

Since we first join facebook, on top of our facebook homepage bar appear “Welcome to FaceBook (your name here)” bar. This bar can’t be close because there is no close button for this bar. This bar is indicate that your facebook account is not complete yet, so it will dissapear automatically when we has been completing our account information. This is the most simple step and direction to do.

• Status: share your status immediately, fill “What’s on your minds?” textbox and click Share button. For example, just write “I’m just start facebook”, etc… Video and photos can be share to your friend be tagging your friends into it.
• Photos: upload your photo from computer or camera, and make it as your profile picture for first so your friends can recognize you. You can add more picture and change your profile photo later.
• Profile: Edit your profile and write down some description about you. Basic information consist of hometown, political view, etc. then write some personal information, contact information, educational and works completely. Don’t forget to setup some privacy setting if you not proper to share you sensitive information to the world.
• Friends: Add friend that you know, you can add it by search it first, just write down email, name, organization, or schools in search (top right of your page). If you don’t have friend on facebook yet, just add some friend from your country networks or invite by email first.

Once you complete all this step, your “Welcome to Facebook” bar will disappear automatically and thank for your visit to my tips pages.

However, over the past few weeks there has been a growing concern among developers to expose ways to monetize their Facebook applications. The curse of instant online success is that you can no longer sustain costly servers to support hundreds and thousands (or even millions) of Facebook users. The question: how can the developers of Facebook apps really make money? We don’t have all the answers so far, but here are 5 suggestions:

1. SELL. Develop applications exclusively for the purpose of selling them to interested parties. Several applications have already been acquired in this fashion; the most fresh example is that of Mozes’ purchase of TextMe.

2. DEVELOP. An indirect source of funds: develop applications under contract for third parties. A number of companies have been posting contract jobs over at the Facebook’s developer forums. There exists a large gap in the supply and demand of available Facebook application developers; as a result, finding potential clients to charge reasonable rates should not be a hassle.

3. ADVERTISING. Use advertisements, cross-promotion schemes and affiliate marketing. It is not feasible to use Google Adsense for this since Facebook does not allow JavaScript embedding. Adsense may be embedded through iFrames, which despite being popular among Facebook developers, is against Google’s TOS. Affiliate marketing is a great alternative to advertisements; my own source of income on Facebook is generated through Amazon’s affiliate marketing.

4. MICROPAYMENTS. Sell services within Facebook through micro-payment transactions. PayPal payments made for accessing premium services could potentially yield reasonable revenue depending on the application’s idea, purpose, size, and prospective users.

5. GET INVESTMENT. If you suppose you have something giant on your hands and lack the funds to scale it, apply for investment through Bay Partners and others who have expressed interest in funding Facebook apps. This would be the likely lessons of act for a startup with plans to expand globally within and beyond Facebook.
